GOV'T MULE
Mulennium (2010)

Being kept in a closet for a long time, these live tapes from 2000 deserve to be published ! As every year, Warren Haynes and friends show the last day of the year is a particular event with a lot of special guests. So that’s what happened ten years ago, with the missing Alan Woody. It was an unforgettable moment of great intensity, four hours of music on three CDs. This special night at the Atlanta Roxy Theater is the kind of show that presents and characterizes the Mule spirit. It’s such a pleasure to be ten years back ! On the CD1, there are Gov’t Mule songs, with a great quality. What a feeling when they play the Who’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It”. CD2 is more close to the Blues, with Little Milton who is now with Alan Woody in a long long blues !

CD3 is the big final of this great evening, with guests such as Audley Freed (Cry of Love, Black Crowes), Robert Kearns (today with Skynyrd), Johnny Mosier and Barry Richman. It’s a real fireworks feast with some free covers of “Helter Skelter”, “30 Days in the Hole”, the fantastic “End of the Line” and the moving “Simple Man” with a lot of guitar parts. An evening really magic !
